Links to Other Teaching Resources

Faculty and students are encouraged to submit their favorite Web sites that focus on quantitative teaching resources for undergraduate and graduate education. These links should include materials that can be used in the classroom. They will be reviewed by the Instructional Materials and Information Subcommittee for possible posting on this site. Links should be emailed to dburrell@icpsr.umich.edu with the title "Teaching Links/ICPSR" on the subject line.

Thinking With Data

  • Chance (Dartmouth College) Course materials for teaching quantitative literacy, including a monthly newsletter, videos of lectures, audio presentations, syllabi, additional teaching aids, and links to other sites.

  • GEOSTAT: Geospatial and Statistical Data Center, User Projects and Partnerships (University of Virginia) Course materials from various disciplines using spatial data analysis.

  • Survey Documentation and Analysis (UC Berkeley) Online statistical analysis and creation of data subsets for a number of datatsets, including the General Social Survey and the National Election Studies. Links to other SDA sites.

  • Teaching Resources Depository (California State University) Instructional modules and exercises with datasets, sections on information competency and critical thinking, an SPSS primer, and other teaching and learning tools.

  • Virtual Lab in Statistics (Rice University) An online statistics text, Java applets, case studies, and online statistical analysis.
